2026 PARADE THEME
This year's theme is 'Nightmare on Market Street!' From vampires and zombies to witches and haunted scarecrows, everyone's invited to bring their spookiest nightmares to life for a frightfully fun celebration.
All parade participants and attendees are welcome to join in making Market Street a spooky and festive gathering of ghosts and ghouls for this beloved downtown tradition!
DETAILS
Marking its 76th march through downtown York, the parade will launch Sunday, October 25, at 2:00 PM from the York Fairgrounds and travel east on Market Street from Richland Avenue to Broad Street.
Parking is available in downtown lots and garages, no parking is permitted along Market Street. There will be various street closures, including the following;

Market Street along the parade route to close at 12:00pm
-
George Street closing at 1:00pm from Philadelphia to King

All other cross streets closing at 1:30pm.
This is a RAIN OR SHINE event

Please read the attached rules and regulations carefully prior to registering for the parade.
PRIZES!
Cash awards thanks to the support of the Arthur J. & Lee R. Glatfelter Foundation!
Any participating school district band receives an $1,000 participation stipend.
Non-profit entries – floats or marching groups – will be judged and are eligible for prizes as follows:
First place - $1,500
Second place - $1,000
Third place - $750
Three honorable mentions - $250 each
